Weather, Snow Conditions & Training Cancellations

Westcastle Ski Club programs operate in an outdoor mountain environment and are subject to weather, snow conditions, lift operations, and other circumstances beyond the club’s control. Training days may be cancelled, modified, relocated, or replaced with an alternate training plan when conditions are unsafe, when there is insufficient snow, or when gates cannot be set safely.

No partial or prorated refunds will be offered for individual training days cancelled due to weather, snow conditions, lift operations, unsafe training conditions, inability to set gates safely, or other circumstances beyond WSC’s control.

If WSC determines that a program must be terminated after the first day on snow and a reasonable alternate training plan cannot be provided, registration fees may be considered for a pro-rated refund or credit at the sole discretion of the WSC Board.

Nancy Greene Ski League Sunday Program (Ages 4–9)

Westcastle Ski Club’s Nancy Greene program is a fun, welcoming introduction to alpine ski racing. Built around the idea of “ski racing for the fun of it,” the program focuses on building confidence, strong skiing fundamentals, teamwork, and a lifelong love of skiing in a positive, low-pressure environment.

Athletes learn through games, drills, mileage, and varied terrain while enjoying being part of the mountain community at Castle. Competition is introduced in an age-appropriate way, with an emphasis on fair play, personal progress, and having fun. With guidance from experienced coaches, athletes progress at their own pace while learning to ski the entire mountain, including making their way to the summit when ready.

Parent tail guns may also be used to support younger Nancy Greene groups on snow. Tail guns assist primarily with safety, including helping young athletes load and ride lifts safely, keeping groups organized, and helping skiers get back on their feet and skis after a fall. Parents who are comfortable skiing at the back of the group while the athletes focus on the coach and assisting young athletes load/unload the chairs and are interested in helping in this role are encouraged to contact WSC for more information. Wait listed athletes who have an adult that can tail gun for the group will take priority if tail guns are needed.
