This Competitive Level Program is designed to solidify the skills so far acquired, introducing more intensive race training and offering regular competition for the skiers.
* Athletes registering for the competitive racing program must have at least three years prior skiing experience *
The program is strongly aligned with Alpine Canada’s LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) model and the Alberta Alpine philosophy to develop ski specific physical and mental skills and continue to develop the athlete's technical and tactical skills. This program teaches athletes to learn to race, including a high volume of varied repetition which helps solidify their technical skiing skills.
The all-around athlete approach consists of developing a strong physical and mental foundation, the ability to make fast decisions, and creating a winning mindset. The ultimate goal of the program is to ensure that WSC athletes are challenged in a fun and competitive environment while working to reach their athletic potential.
